How We Can

Make a Difference

Studies have shown that our senior community and their caregivers, struggle with an elevated amount of anxiety and stress. This can lead to increased disease and weakened immunity. Spiritual care is known to have profound health benefits and continues to be studied till this day. OLA believes that spiritual care lessens anxiety and stress, increases hope and calmness, and improves quality of life.

Sadly, many seniors in assisted living facilities do not have access to faith-based services. We have learned that post pandemic, many facilities have had a difficult time getting volunteers and visitors to return. Our Loving Arms is committed to helping the most vulnerable in our community, providing them with spiritual support, companionship, and comfort.

I’m a Christian, a mother, a wife, and up until this last year, a corporate businesswoman with goals solely focused on how high I could climb the ladder. I lived for me. A workaholic, never

resting, head-strong and competitive. That cycle never ended and I usually found myself worn out and stressed out. I thought that was part of the job. Still, I knew something inside wasn’t right. So, what changed?

A dream and a call. About 12 years ago, God placed a dream in my heart to set out to pray for the elderly.

My mission is simple, to bring Jesus and prayer to those who can’t come to Him. I believe that through Jesus we are saved, and through faith and prayer all things become possible. Salvation, healing, redemption, and forgiveness, are just some of the benefits of a relationship with Him.

He did it for me 23 years ago when I first became a Christian, and He did it again when He put this dream in my heart. Every day He renews my spirit with new insight and every day I draw closer to Him in prayer. He restores things that I have lost; hope, time, pain, finances, family, and opportunities. I believe that it’s never too late to start again no matter your circumstance or your age.

I am walking proof of God’s goodness. You may think time has passed you by or that there is no time left for you. You may think that God has forgotten you but I’m here to tell you it took 45 years for me to wake up and 12 years to walk into my calling.

Its never too late with God!

Volunteer

In the near future, we hope to raise enough funding to train a team of volunteers to compassionately and professionally provide spiritual support and companionship to seniors in our community. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us for more information.
